Since the butyl rubber does not harden and is probably not UV resistant, 3 pieces of black vinyl baseboard trim (again from the local hardware store - you know the stuff you put at the bottom of the wall to cover the gap in the corner) were cut to cover the soft rubber. The vinyl comes in like 4" wide strips and was cut to a width to just bridge the gap with perhaps 1/4" overlap on the glass and metal. A paper template was made for the side pieces and a 3rd piece covered the top. The bottom trim was retained and later was painted black to match. I used a good exterior adhesive to glue the vinyl strips to the glass and metal, I think I may have used "Automotive Goop" or something like that. (3/5)
