Introduction:
We're releasing our CAD models and information so you can make your own kit.
- Up to 3" on '84 -'89 (1st gen):

Up to 3" on '90 - '95 (2nd gen):
- Leo Castenada is running a 1" body lift on his '95 automatic
- 3.0L V6 4Runners may have problems at 3" with the stock engine air intake, modifications will be needed

Up to 3" on '96 - '02 (3rd gen):
- Adam Fertig did a nice installation write-up
- Bolt on 9th and 10th body mount brackets for '96 4Runner available for $80.00/pair, useable w/ and w/o body lifts.
- 3" available but may require gas tank filler hose extensions, etc.
- Note: Front bumper bracket on '00 - '02 4Runner kits may need to be drilled to accept bumper relocation bracket
- If running more than 2" of front suspension lift, a front differential drop kit may be installed.

Limitations:
- For RHD models w/ 3.0L turbo-diesel engines, bolt-in steering ext. beyond 1" may not fit, cutting and welding an ext. into the shaft itself may be required.

On 3rd gen 4Runner with the 3.4L-V6 engine and Edelbrock headers, you
may experience clearance issues at the steering rag joint when the body lift
steering spacer is installed.
- You can check for vertical clearance above the rag joint to the exhaust header, the spacers are approx. the same (3") diameter as the rag joint and a 1" lift spacer is approx. 3/4" tall, 1.5" lift spacer is 1-1/4" tall, 2" lift spacer is approx. 1-3/4" tall and 3" lift spacer is approx. 2-1/2" tall.
- 1" body lift seems to be the maximum lift in this application, but feel free to measure for yourself.
- On trucks with 4" ProComp lifts, steering extension beyond 5/8" tall may not clear the steering rack drop bracket.
- Up to 2" on 2003-2009 (4th gen) / LX-450
- Up to 1" on 2010+ (5th gen) / LX-460

1/2" lift blocks (only) are available for all models above
- Typically no need for longer hardware, assuming ~1/2" of excess bolt length on factory hardware
- Use the 1" lift block pricing (kit A or B) for the given vehicle
- Shipping is only $8.00 in the US and $33.00 International on the 1/2" block kits
- 1.5" or 2" denotes the option of 1.5" or 2" lift, one or the other, it's not adjustable in height
- The 0" kits can be used for a body lift removal, restoring the vehicle to stock height and optionally replacing all the OEM rubber bushings with polyurethane.

We can also produce tapered/progressive body lifts for custom applications:
- In a tapered lift, the lift block heights are stepped up or down from front to back to help level the vehicle.
-
Add US$50.00 (item: TAPER) to the cost of the maximum
desired lift kit and supply us with the following information:
- Lift height front and rear as well as the horizontal distance between the body mount locations starting at the front.
- For example on the 3rd gen 4Runner, Front-A = 54", A-B = 23", B-C = 38", C-Rear = 44" for the 5 pair of body mounts.
- For example on the 4th gen 4Runner, Front-A = 43", A-B = 66.5", B-Rear = 53" for the 4 pair of body mounts.
- For example with a lift tapering from 2" in front to 1" in back would raise the front end 1" higher than the back if that were your goal.

Hardware:
- For hardware-only orders, use the 0"-kit D pricing and specify the lift height in the order description.
- Shift Lever (SL) extensions of 2" and 3" length for transmission and transfer case shifter with screw-on knobs, only.

In the pricing tables below, the "Typical
Kits" for each given lift height and vehicle is listed:
- Both in an itemized list at the bottom of each lift height and as bold text in the table columns.

The "Typical Kit" contains those parts typically needed to
lift a typical vehicle that height, thus the name "Typical
Kit".
- 0" typical kit would also be called a "body lift removal kit"
- A typical vehicle is one that is somewhat close to stock, that is has the stock engine, stock steering, stock bumpers, etc.

Note, things like suspension lifts, larger than stock tires, etc. have
little or no impact on a body lift.
- After all, all those things do is to raise the frame higher off the ground. A body lift in turn simply raises the body off the frame. So in a sense the body lift could care less what sort of suspension or tires are sitting below the frame.

Feel free to add or subtract from the typical kit as your needs
dictate;
- For example if you have a custom front bumper, subtract the Front Bumper (FB) brackets from your kit and adjust the price accordingly.
- Or if you wish to upgrade to the Heavy Duty hardware, add the HD option to your kit and adjust the price accordingly.

Add the AT bracket item (ATbrkt) for 2" and
3" lifts on vehicles with automatic transmissions where that
option is listed.
- Generally required at 2" and above, available in 2" and 3" versions

Add the AT linkage extension item (AText) is
typically needed at 3" lift, it can be installed at a 2" lift
but typically not needed.
- At 1.5" lift, measure the clearance between the shift linkage and the transfer case and decide if you'll need a 2" bracket or not.
- For 2WD automatics, if you have the adjustable shifter linkage along the transmission, the AT linkage extension (AText) in case you run out of adjustment in the linkage.

- There are six basic body lift kit packages to cover the following model years of the Toyota 4Runner/Hilux Surf (4WD and 2WD). Why the date and model ranges below? Note that we are using the model years for the US/North America versions. In some parts of the world, there is a deviation from these dates in the 2nd generation Hilux Surf models. In the US, 1995 was the last model year with torsion bar front suspension, but in other parts of the world, the 1996+ models also used torsion bar front suspension. If your Hilux Surf has torsion bar front suspension (as opposed to the coil over spring front suspension), then use the 1990-1995/2nd gen. 4Runner kits. The grouping below are where there were significant changes in the vehicle design that affects the body lift components to the point where a different kit is needed. Within a given date/model range, all body lift kit components are the same:

Hardware is available in several options.
- Standard grade (Grade 5) hardware is included in kits D, includes longer bolts for each body mount location
- Hardware may be upgraded to Heavy Duty (Grade 8) by ordering the HD option

where applicable
- HD and SS are mutually exclusive, that is there is no HD+SS option
- The HDw option may be included withy any hardware option to obtain heavy duty, oversized bottom washers.

Optional Front Bumper brackets to raise the stock front bumper to match
the lift
- On '84/'85 models, front bumper brackets only available in 1 inch increments (i.e. 1", 2", 3", but not for 1.5")
- Optional Radiator drop brackets to lower the radiator to align with the stock radiator fan
- Optional Bed Spacers can be used to support the center of the cargo bed over the rear wheels, if needed
- Optional Shift lever extensions that screw onto the shift lever to extend it 2" or 3" to match the lift
- Optional Automatic transmission/transfer case bracket extensions for externally shifted transfer cases
- Optional Polyurethane body mount bushings to replace the stock rubber bushings, if needed.

ATbrkt/AText option for automatic transmission:
- 4WD: 2" = AT bracket, 3" = AT bracket + linkage extension
- 2WD: 3" AT linkage extension, can be used at 2" if desired

Kits including Poly bushings will include either spacers or
lift blocks of varying heights.
- This is done to make up the height differences of the factory rubber body mounts and the replacement poly bushings.
- If you want the spacer color to match the bushing color, you can either paint the spacers or add the CLR option to get those spacers in black.
- If you add up the height of the spacer (or taller lift block) and the height of the poly bushing, it should be of comparable height to the rubber bushing.

If you have an existing body lift kit and wish to install a poly
bushing kit, you have two options.
- 1: Order kit P and then place the spacers above or below your existing body lift blocks.
- 2: Order replacement body lift blocks (kit C or D)) along with the poly kit to get the lift blocks with integrated spacers as well as appropriately sized hardware for the lift+poly bushings.
- With option 1, you can change/remove the body lift easier in the future. With option 2, you have a one piece solid lift block. Both options work, it's up to you as to which is better.
- We've seen some variation in required bolt lengths for the C-pillar poly bushing. We supply a bolt that is long enough to fit the longest length required, but in a few cases, that bolt might be a bit too long. If you find the nut bottoming out on the un-threaded portion of the bolt, simply add a few washers under the head of the bolt to take up the extra length.
- If installing a poly bushing kit after installing a body lift kit, you may find the rear 4 bolts might be a bit too long since our poly bushings in those locations are shorter in overall height than the OEM bushings. If you find the nuts are bottoming out on the bolt threads, you can add a washer or two between the nut and the bushing. This will take up the extra bolt shank length.
- The 2 pair of 1-piece body mounts that bolt to the frame assume re-use of the OEM mounting bolts. If you'ld like to replace those, add the Phw hardware kit that includes replacement bolts and nuts to secure the body mount flanges to the frame bracket.
- For customers who have already purchased a 6-mount pickup/Tacoma cab mount bushing set, which are being incorrectly sold as a 4Runner bushing kit, we can supply the remaining 4 bushings for the rear of the body with kit item P4. This will allow you to use the 6 bushing kit you already have along with our 4 custom rear bushings to replace all 10 of your OEM body mount bushings.

BBx: The 0" kit price includes the body mount h/w while
the 1" and higher kits do not, as that h/w would be included in
kits C or D.
- If the 9th/10th body mounts are not desired (kit BBw or BBw), do not order them and advise whether you want the body lift blocks and hardware for those body mounts if you plan to add your own brackets or plan to do so in the future.

Kit P2includes a total of:
- 4 - 1 piece bushings (A pillar and rear of vehicle) and 2 small - and 4 large - 2 piece bushings for the rest of the body

Kit P3includes a total of:
- 2 small / 4 large 2-piece bushings and 2 1-piece bushings for the A-pillar
- This kit is intended for customers that have already replaced the rear most 1-piece bushings with polyurethane and wish to replace the remainder.

Kit P4includes a total of:
- 2 1-piece bushings for the rear of vehicle
- This kit is intended for customers that want to replace the rear most 1-piece bushings with polyurethane.
- There may be some minor variations in these models with respect to bushing heights. So if you want to check and send us a list of your upper bushing heights, we can match that up with the information we have for these poly bushing kits, or we can just use our default set of bushing heights.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON POLY BODY MOUNT BUSHINGS ~2000 MODELS:
- If your vehicle has an additional pair of 1-piece bushings under the A-pillar (i.e. the same kind of bushings as at the rear of the vehicle), then be sure to specify/order the bushing P2 kit to ensure you get a kit with 2 pair of 1-piece and 3 pair of 2-piece bushings.
- Some 2000 models have just the rear pair of 1-piece bushings (bushing brackets bolt to the frame) and some models have 2 pair, so that the A-pillar and rear bushings are the same type. THE ONLY WAY TO TELL WHICH YOU HAVE is to crawl under the truck and look. If the A-pillar bushings (under the front of the front doors) look like the bushings at the rear of the vehicle, you need kit P2, if those bushings look like the ones under the rear door, then you need kit P1, see the 1997-1999 table.

Also, some rare 2000 models will have shorter bolts installed under the
A-pillar than under the B or C-pillars (remove a bolt in each location
and compare). If you see this on your vehicle, you can ask us to supply
a 1/2" shorter bolt for the A-pillar locations or you can simply
use a few extra washers under the nut on the bottom of the bolt to take
up the extra bolt length and allow the nut to be fully tightened.

The 2000 model 4Runners are transition models between the 1999 and
earlier and the 2001 and later 3rd gens. The only way to know which you
have is to look and see.
- It is likely that if your 2000 4Runner has the A-pillar and rear-most body mount bushings that are alike, this shorter bolt may be needed.
- On the other hand, if the A-pillar and B-pillar bushings are the same type, then you probably need the longer bolt.
- And if you don't want to check, the default longer bolt will work fine, you may just need to add a couple of washers between the nut and the bottom of the body mount bushings to take up the extra bolt length. That will work perfectly fine, it will not affect the strength or performance of the body lift or the body mounts, they can't tell if you have one, two or more washers.

Which to choose?
- Standard size offers the lowest cost
- Ultimate size is our most popular size combination for most vehicles

Mega size would apply if the body mounts on your vehicle match the
diameters shown in the table and you wish to have the lift block size
match that of the body mount bushings
- If your vehicle doesn't have the extra large diameter body mounts, the mega size lift blocks may not sit up flush to the bottom of the body, so be sure to check prior to ordering

For Heavy Duty (HD)
or METric (MET) hardware upgrade, kit C D

- METric hardware is of course the same size/grade/strength as stock, choose this option for easiest installation.
- Above 1.5" lift height, the extra long bolts required are only available in the HD grade 8 version, so the HD hardware must be added

Specify if you would like undersize (7/16") or oversize
(1/2") hardware if you do not opt for METric:

Oversize hardware is stronger but may require that body
mount washers and bushings be enlarged slightly (to 1/2") to
install the larger bolts
- If this is an issue for you, select either an undersized hardware option or the METric hardware option.
- Unless otherwise specified, the oversize hardware will be assumed for both standard and heavy duty grade options, since most folks want the benefit of the stronger, oversized hardware.

This gives you the choice of 4 hardware options, since you can choose
from:
- Undersize - standard grade; ~16% weaker than stock
- Undersize - heavy duty grade; ~5% stronger than stock
- Oversized standard grade; ~12% stronger than stock (default for kits C or D)
- Oversized - heavy duty grade; ~40% stronger than stock (default for kits C+HD or D+HD)
- All hardware kits include longer bolts, nylon lock nuts and washers.

Special 1/2" kit combination includes the 8 - 1/2" tall lift
blocks plus 2 longer bolts (1/2" kit D) for the rear
pair of body mounts
- You can re-use the factory bolts for the other 6 locations, or if you want a full set of replacement hardware, use the up to 1" kit D pricing.
- Be sure and check the exposed thread on all 8 body mount bolts to ensure there's enough length left to fit the lift blcoks. On some models, you may find you need more than one pair of longer bolts. If so, let us know how many longer bolts you'll need, additional pair of std. grade bolts $12.00, in HD, $17.00 and in metric, $22.00
- The 1/2" lift kit is a good option is you install rock sliders or after market bumpers and find you have squeaking from the body contacting the new protection .
- It's also easy to install as you don't have to adjust steering, radiator or bumpers, just raise the body up, slide in the spacers and drop it back down.

New Mega size lift block kits (BB and DD) for those
models with body mount bushings larger than 2.5" in diameter.
- To order, substitute kit items BB or DD for B or D.
- If you already have a standard or ultimate body lift installed and you want to upgrade to the Mega lift blocks, simply order kit item BB in the height desired and then just swap out the old lift blocks for the new larger diameter version..

Steering extension (SE) typically required on lifts above 1", can
be installed on 1" lifts but may not be required
- With the 2" lift kit, some customers are finding the spacer for the 1.25"/1.5" lift is a better fit. That spacer is 7/8" tall, the one for the 2" lift is 1-1/4" tall.
- If you want to use the shorter spacer, just add the $40 SE instead of the $50 SE when ordering the kit and let us know you want the shorter spacer.
- If removing a body lift with a rag joint steering extension, order the 0" SE kit item to get a pair of stock length rag joint bolts

Lift height / Front bumper fit:
- 1" lift should not require any trimming for the front and rear bumpers is you have the heavy steel cross members behind them
- 1.25" lift most closely matches the offset of the front bumper mounting studs, so the bumper can be raised one set of studs and line up with minimal gap

1.5" will have a slight gap at the front bumper
- Note: 1.25" / 1.5" kits are separate, specify one or the other when ordering. Kits are not "adjustable", they are built to the height you order, same price for either height, but we need to know which height to make your kit.
- Above 1.5" you'll either have a larger front bumper gap or you'll need a custom front bumper built for the body lift height.

Which to choose?
- Standard size offers the lowest cost
- Ultimate size is our most popular size combination for most vehicles

Mega size would apply if the body mounts on your vehicle match the
diameters shown in the table and you wish to have the lift block size
match that of the body mount bushings.
- If your vehicle doesn't have the extra large diameter body mounts, the mega size lift blocks may not sit up flush to the bottom of the body, so be sure to check prior to ordering

For Heavy Duty (HD)
or METric (MET) hardware upgrade, kit C D
or DD must also be ordered
- Hardware upgrades are mutually exclusive in that only one can be ordered, e.g. there is no HD+MET upgrade.
- METric hardware is of course the same size/grade/strength as stock, choose this option for easiest installation.

Specify if you would like undersize (7/16") or oversize
(1/2") hardware if you do not opt for METric:

Oversize hardware is stronger but may require that body mount washers
and bushings be enlarged slightly (to 1/2") to install the larger
bolts
- If this is an issue for you, select either an undersized hardware option or the METric hardware option.
- Unless otherwise specified, the oversize hardware will be assumed for both standard and heavy duty grade options, since most folks want the benefit of the stronger, oversized hardware.

This gives you the choice of 4 hardware options, since you can choose
from:
- Undersize - standard grade; ~16% weaker than stock
- Undersize - heavy duty grade; ~5% stronger than stock
- Oversized standard grade; ~12% stronger than stock (default for kits C or D)
- Oversized - heavy duty grade; ~40% stronger than stock (default for kits C+HD or D+HD)
- All hardware kits include longer bolts, nylon lock nuts and washers.

Special 1/2" kit combination includes the 8 - 1/2" tall lift
blocks plus 2 longer bolts (1/2" kit D) for the rear
pair of body mounts
- You can re-use the factory bolts for the other 6 locations, or if you want a full set of replacement hardware, use the up to 1" kit D pricing.
- The 1/2" lift kit is a good option is you install rock sliders or after market bumpers and find you have squeaking from the body contacting the new protection .

New Mega size lift block kits (BB and DD) for those
models with body mount bushings larger than 2.5" in diameter.
- To order, substitute kit items BB or DD for B or D.
- If you already have a standard or ultimate body lift installed and you want to upgrade to the Mega lift blocks, simply order kit item BB in the height desired and then just swap out the old lift blocks for the new larger diameter version..

CLR option, black is the default custom color
- If you wish to paint your blocks a custom color, order the CLR option and we'll prep the blocks for painting and you can paint the blocks upon receipt
- The natural block color is white

Typically the 5th gen 4Runners lack the bolted steering shaft rag
joint, precluding any bolt-in steering shaft extension.
- If you wish a taller lift and can modify your own steering shaft to suite, order the desired 4th gen kit (w/o the steering extension).
